Introduction

aql, provider of award winning and innovative products, has produced a range of hardware solutions to compliment its conventional messaging delivery mechanisms.

Bluetooth Delivery Node

In situations where proximity marketing is required, SMS is not always a suitable solution. To meet this specific requirement, aql has developed an interactive bluetooth marketing system.

This messaging system comprises a small device, which is installed locally where bluetooth messaging is required, for example:

• exhibitions;
• showroom areas;
• sports events;
• shops and sports clubs;
• airport lounges.

Each bluetooth device takes its power from a standard 3-pin socket. Once the device is installed, it can be administered by logging onto the aql.com website. From our website, content can be deployed to bluetooth nodes and campaign statistics viewed in real-time.

Interactive

The system is interactive, allowing users to text to receive content, which is deployed via bluetooth and is cost-free to receive. (Alternatively, it is also possible to deploy content via SMS.)

Examples of the use of this system include:

1. A device is installed unobtrusively in a hotel lobby and sends a voucher code for the hotel restaurant to guests as they leave during early evening. Later in the evening, vouchers for the hotel bar can be sent.
2. A device is installed in a record shop, sending short video clips to handsets within the vicinity, promoting a new album.
3. A device is installed in the foyer of a health club, advertising vouchers and promotions for their on-site spa facility.
4. A device is installed at a music event. Guests are sent a timetable of the event upon arrival, and can then text for extra information, or to participate in, and receive information about, future events.

Specification

Two models: internal and external (IP rated).

• Both devices require mains power, or Power-Over-Ethernet (POE).
• Both devices require access to the internet. This can be provided by a wifi connection, an internal 3G modem, or wired ethernet.
• Both devices will auto-deploy within any BT OpenZone hotspot, which makes them ideal for hotels, coffee houses and airports.
